Josh HEAD
Joshua Head (b. Queensland. 1982- ) I sometimes work under the name Raphael Iacocca. I’m an Australian artist whose practice is focused on figurative drawings and paintings, but extends into classic cartooning. Influenced by master artists Robert Crumb, Norman Lindsay, and Virgil Finlay, my colour theories informed an aesthetic throughout the 2010s while I studied Illustration at Melbourne Polytechnic. I’ve worked on the judging panel of the 2023 Bondi Screenplay Competition, written 5 novellas, and had short stories, comics and artwork featured in periodicals like Yuck! - Milk Shadow, Torpedo - The Bullet, and the popular American quarterly Tiki Magazine USA. Along with work exhibited in Melbourne’s Kustom Lane Gallery - Red Gallery, and more.
